Summer Camp Directors
Camp Directors oversee and perform planning, coordinating and supervising activities for school-aged children. They supervise and provide feedback to Head Camp Counselors and Counselors, oversee the implementation of the daily schedule of activities, strategize creative solutions for behavioral challenges, communicate with parents/guardians.

Position available late June, July & August; up to 40 hours/week; $17.75-$23.00/hour based on experience.

Summer Camp Counselors & Head Counselors
Summer camp counselors plan and facilitate a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for school-aged children during the summer day camp program. Establish and maintain a routine of active and passive recreation activities that engage campers mentally, physically, and socially. Maintain a fun, safe environment that encourages campers to want to return day after day. No evening or weekend shifts required! Head Counselors supervise Camp Counselors and oversee the Counselor-In-Training Program.

Position available late June, July & August; up to 40 hours/week; $13.00-$17.00/hour based on experience.

Outdoor Pool Lifeguards & Head Lifeguards
Responsible for the safe operation of the aquatic facility. Implement daily schedule of activities such as swim lessons and public swim times. Responsible for enforcing pool rules. Maintain positive public relationships at all aquatic facilities. Current lifeguard certification or ability to take Rochester Recreation Lifeguarding course a must. Head Lifeguards supervise lifeguards and oversee swim lessons.

Position available late June, July & August; up to 40 hours/week; $15.75-$23.00/hour and based on experience.

➢ Rochester Recreation provides FREE Lifeguard certification training for eligible candidates. Did you recently obtain your lifeguard certification? You could qualify for a $200 training reimbursement at the end of a successful summer of employment with us!

Outdoor Pool Attendants
Performs all non-lifeguard related duties pertaining to the efficient, safe operation of the aquatic facility and programs including signing in participants. Serves as the onsite department liaison to the public. Maintain positive public relationships at all aquatic facilities.

Position available late June, July & August; up to 40 hours/week; $13.00-$15.00/hour based on experience.

Requirements for all Positions:
Must be at least 15 years of age (18+ for Camp Directors). Valid certification in First Aid/CPR/AED, or the ability to obtain such certification. High-energy level and effective communication skills. Pre-employment testing for those 18+ includes a criminal record check and drug screening.
